Play971: The UAE's Licensed Online Casino and Sportsbook

Why Play971 Matters for Players in the UAE

For years, anyone in the Emirates who wanted to play online had only offshore websites to choose from. None of them answered to a UAE regulator. That changed once the GCGRA was set up in September 2023 to oversee commercial gaming at a federal level. In late November 2025, Play971 became the authority's licensed internet gaming and sports wagering operator and opened its site at play971.ae.

A licence brings obligations that unregulated sites never had to meet. The operator must verify every customer's identity, confirm that each session takes place inside permitted parts of the UAE, and provide tools for limiting play. Disputes can be escalated to a regulator based in the country. For players, that means stricter sign-up checks, but also a clearer idea of who is holding your money.

Casino Games on Play971

The casino lobby covers the main categories you would expect from a regulated operator. Titles are supplied by licensed studios, and the selection is updated over time.

Live dealer tables have also been reported as part of the rollout. Because the lobby is still growing, treat any list of games as a snapshot and confirm what is available when you sign in.

Play971 Sports Betting

Sports wagering sits under its own GCGRA licence, and the sportsbook uses data from Sportradar to price events. Football is the headline sport, with markets on goals scored, results by half and the number of corners. Cricket, horse racing, tennis and basketball, including NBA games, are covered too, along with futsal, ice hockey and baseball.

• Single bets and multiples on supported events
• Football markets for goals, halves and corners
• Cricket fixtures popular with UAE audiences
• Horse racing, tennis and basketball, with NBA coverage

Markets differ by event and can be withdrawn at short notice, so always read the bet slip before you confirm a stake.

Who Can Join Play971

The platform applies some of the tightest entry rules in the region. Before you try to register, make sure you meet each of these points.

• Age: you must be at least 21.
• Location: you must be physically inside the UAE every time you play. Location services must stay switched on, and VPNs or location-masking tools are banned.
• Emirate: availability depends on where you are. Reports from mid-2026 listed Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah as supported and Dubai as restricted. The site's own location check is the final word.
• Residency: UAE residents and visitors can apply. Emirati nationals face extra rules tied to their home emirate, and some reports describe them as excluded altogether, so read the current terms first.
• One account: each person is allowed a single account.
• Exclusions: staff, directors and contractors of the operator and their relatives cannot play, nor can people from sanctioned countries.

How to Register with Play971

Signing up takes a few minutes if your documents are in order. Here is the usual sequence.

1. Open the official site. Go to play971.ae through our link or by typing the address yourself, and choose the sign-up option.
2. Enter matching details. Use your full name, mobile number and home address exactly as they appear on your Emirates ID.
3. Verify with your Emirates ID. The site accepts the Emirates ID as its only identity document. Passports and driving licences are not used for this step.
4. Allow location access. Grant your browser or phone permission to share your location so the site can confirm you are in a permitted area.
5. Set your limits, then deposit. Choose deposit and time limits before funding the account, and only use a payment card in your own name.

Play971 Login and Mobile Access

Once verified, you sign in with the details you chose at registration. If the site refuses to load your lobby, the cause is usually location permissions rather than your password. Our Play971 login guide covers the common fixes, and the Play971 app page explains how to play on a phone without downloading anything risky.

Play971 Bonus and Promotions

Regulated operators have to describe offers clearly and attach full terms, so promotions on Play971 tend to be more modest than the headline numbers offshore sites use. Our Play971 bonus guide shows how to read wagering rules and spot fake promo codes.

Playing Safely on Play971

Play971 includes deposit limits, time-outs and self-exclusion for a minimum of six months. Use them early rather than after a bad session. If gambling starts to affect your money, sleep or relationships, our responsible gaming page lists where to get confidential help.
